Laura Mirarchi is a visual artist based in Italy (Florence). At the centre of her artistic practice there is the individual and the question about identity, political and cultural differences, in our fragmented and contradictory society.
She uses different media such as: painting, drawing, printmaking and recently she approached the installation working with hybrid materials to create sculptural elements.
Meet the Artist
Her Glogauair project consists of finding a way to preserve our personal integrity in a time when we are overwhelmed by homologation and subjected to an abuse of images and consumption.
In the wake of the fear of missing out (FOMO) the reality seems to be out of reach as well as the perception of Power. To scratch that surface, catch that complexity, a mixed-media approach could be the best way through this journey.
Statement
Laura Mirarchi is a visual artist based in Italy (Florence). At the centre of her artistic practice there is the individual and the question about identity, political and cultural differences, in our fragmented and contradictory society.
To bring her artistic concept into a visual form she uses different media such as: painting, drawing, printmaking and recently she approached the installation working with hybrid materials to create sculptural elements.
Treating the figure as a pattern of fluid shapes, the purpose is to invite the viewer to question what they see and experience in that space which open up different perspective and meanings.
